It checks recent messages in your connected inbox for a code that matches the website.

Click the code to fill it.
The code appears beside the box. Click to fill it, then continue on the website.
It finds sign-in links too. Nothing fills until you click, and you still press the website’s sign-in button.
Dumbwaiter works with many common sign-in emails. Some websites and links that require another app still need you to open your inbox.

Common questions.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once for the Mac app and its Chrome extension. Use it on 2 Macs, with 12 months of updates. You keep the versions released in that time. There is no automatic renewal.
Why does it need access to all my email?
Dumbwaiter must read email content to find a matching code or link. Google does not offer a permission for login emails only. You connect through Google or Microsoft, and you can remove access at any time. Email is processed on your Mac. How your email is handled.
Does it work with every website?
No. Some websites use an unusual code box, send the code as an image, or need a phone app to open a link. In those cases, you can still get the code from your inbox.
Does it sign in for me?
No. Dumbwaiter fills a code after you click it. You then press the website’s sign-in button. A sign-in link opens only after you click it, but opening that link may complete the sign-in.
Suggested codes can be copied to your clipboard before a click. You can turn off “Copy codes automatically” in the extension settings.
What do I need?
A Mac with macOS 14 or later, Google Chrome, and a Gmail or Outlook account. Some work accounts need administrator approval. Not sure? Compare it with Apple’s AutoFill.
How do I install it?
Download Dumbwaiter, drag it to Applications, and open it. Setup adds the Chrome extension and connects your inbox.
